Stories From the Streets
We are students from the Colorado River Collegiate Academy an Early College High School in Bastrop, Texas. When planning for SUSO we wanted to do something that not only affected our community, but also had an impact on the world as a whole. Using this we decided on improving people's perception of the homeless population.
Problem: Our local soup kitchen was faced with opposition when moving locations due to negative perceptions of the homeless population in Bastrop County. Solution: Speak Up! Speak Out! has partnered with the Open Doors Soup Kitchen, as well as Miracle Messages in order to spread both knowledge and awareness on the homeless population in order to change negative perceptions. |
